Under the supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, the custodian performs a variety of facility related cleaning and minor maintenance tasks.

With a total of 470 Bus Operators, we have 228 buses (including standard buses as well as our smaller Passport vehicles, and others) in service at any one time. We plan to continue offering a wide range of transportation options to Long Beach, and to remain ahead of the curve for public transit.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs a variety of duties related to the cleaning of administrative offices, meeting rooms, lounges, restrooms, locker rooms, maintenance shops and warehouse areas.
Duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, washing walls, windows and restroom fixtures, cleaning hydraulic hoist pits, grounds cleaning, painting and other miscellaneous cleaning and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
Position requires lifting, bending and stooping.
Must possess a valid California Class C driver's license and excellent safe driving record.
A current (within last 30 days) H-6 DMV printout must be attached to the application to demonstrate safe driving record (no exceptions).
Applicants must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
$13.14 per hour with excellent company paid fringe benefits. Must join Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 1277.
