Summary

It is the mission of Long Beach Transit to provide public transportation services that enhance and improve the quality of life for the people in our community. The Utility Worker accomplishes this by performing a variety of duties related to the cleaning and servicing of coaches, grounds, work areas and other company vehicles and equipment.

Here's a quick look at the organization you will join: LBT maintains a fleet of 228 buses, which includes 60-ft. articulated coaches, a growing number of hybrid gasoline-electric engine coaches, and 30 smaller shuttle coaches. LBT has two operating facilities in the city of Long Beach and has nearly 800 employees.

Duties and Responsibilities

Qualifications

$17.08 per hour with excellent company paid fringe benefits. Must join Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 1277.

Apply at Long Beach Transit, 1963 E. Anaheim Street, Long Beach, CA 90813. Submit application, resume, and a current (within last 30 days) H-6 DMV printout (no exceptions). Only complete packets including the application and an H-6 printout will be considered for review.

TESTING: Only a limited number of candidates whose experience, training, and background is determined as most qualified will be invited for testing. Testing date to be announced.

Successful candidate must pass company physical which includes a drug screen
